ive started recreating on my computer the beats for the second record that are currently on my playstation. starting from a blank canvas and copying every beat and every note! im doing this because even though it will take forever its still going to be quicker than recording each sample onto my computer in real time, plus it eliminates the problem of ensuring no hum while recording and should mean theres no difference in lengths of each track. when i did this for the first record i found that over 20 or 30 minutes each sample track would get out of time by a fraction of a second by the end of it.
two evenings down so far and ive done about the first 7 minutes of drums…
oh to be one of those ‘thats close enough’ people…

Yeah I know what you mean but keep at it cause its worth it in the end. The first record sounds really awesome! I love the bass on it! If this one sounds as good as that it will be choice!

cheers dude appreciate it! its a hard road finding the perfect woman but some things are better when they are done hard
ive spent a few more evenings at it and ive had a couple of stumbling blocks with the drum tracks. i thought that the computer would be able to handle doing all the beats in one go but the software obviously has memory limitations and i can only do about 10 minutes of tracks before it gets out of memory. so another step ill need to do is line up each 10 minute block of tracks later on…
also i noticed that the bpm are different on the ps2 and computer, and not just by 1 its about 3 or 4 different! youd think it would be a universal measure of time…
oh well on the plus side im almost up to the end of the instrumental middle section which has a lot of layers so it will be relatively easy to finish from here…
